Tunde Ayeni

Days after NATCOM Consortium-which has Tunde Ayeni as the chairman-doled out a staggering $252.25million to acquire NITEL and MTEL, the legal practitioner who is also the chairman of Skye bank has made a donation of whooping amount: N2bn on President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign for second term.

At the dinner, Ayeni noted that he is donating N1billion on behalf of himself and his partner while the other N1billion is a donation from the coalition of his friends to support the re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Tongues have began wagging with the recent spendthrift lifestyle of Tunde Ayeni.

Insider of Skye bank who pleaded anonymity alleged that most of the funds he is using are directly from the purse of the bank.

Tunde Ayeni, who is also a director at the Ibadan Electricity Development Company in less than a year, has allegedly spent over N48bn, customers money, which invariably put customers hard earned savings at risk.

Since his appointment as the bank chairman in 2012, he has acquired eye-popping edifices in luxurious locations around the world, took delivery of 3 bullet proof G-wagon, purchased two state of art, metal birds (Private Jets), and acquired 2 ships for his oil and gas business. It was gathered that his private business, Olutoyl Estate Development and services, extended its tentacles into oil and gas business immediately he was appointed as Skye bank chairman.

Allegations are rife that reason behind Tunde Ayeni’s suddenly become a big donor to the President’s campaign is for him to be in the presidency good books and become untouchable by law after the president’s re-election.
