Accident victim
An accident occurred at Fadeyi - Jibowu area of Yaba,  Lagos where a man was hit by a Lag-bus while trying to cross the road.

According to FBM correspondent (Tony), some of the  passengers in the Lag-Bus have called Emergency (rescue) number but there was no response while the victim was bleeding profusely and nobody was willing to help because of his critical condition which nobody could predict it's end result.

According an eye witness, "the victim who happened to be an Hausa man was crossing the road without making use of the pedestrian bridge, the driver of the mutual Lag-bus tried his best to avoid him at the expense of 50 passengers sitting and standing on-board but to no avail because the man had already stepped on the BRT lane.

Some mob also came from the opposite street where the man came from, started beating up the driver of the bus. The driver was later rescued from the angry mob by the bus passengers who stood to defend the driver.

The Lagos State Emergency or Safety team number 121 was called by some eye-witnesses but to no avail.

The victim was later carried to a nearby hospital (probably Gbobi) with the help of 2 (good samarithans) taxi drivers.

Another eye-witness on the condition of anonymity also showed his grievance saying "It was annoying to see some men of NSCDC passing by but refused to lend a helping hand."

This mishap also led to a light traffic due to diversion of Lag-Buses from BRT lane to service lane.

All effort to get the attention of Rescue / Emergency team was proved abortive.
