Abubakar Danladi
A law broken in Taraba,years back, was today restored, when the Supreme Court ordered that the Taraba State acting Governor Garuba Umar, to be removed citing illegalities in the impeachment proceeding that led the sack of Abubakar Danladi, the Former Deputy Governor of the state. Danladi served under Governor Danbaba Suntai until September 2012 when he was impeached by the state House of Assembly for gross misconduct and engaging in private business, a month before the Governor Dambaba Suntai, was involved in an air accident which has now left him brain damaged.
Dissatisfied with his removal as Suntai’s deputy, Danladi approached the Federal High Court sitting in Jalingo, the state capital, seeking the quashing of his removal.
The court upheld the decision of the lawmakers. Danladi also met a brick wall when The court of Appeal,alo upheld the ruling of the High Court, that he was duly and constitutionally impeached.
Garba Umar who was appointed to replace Danladi, was later elevated to Acting Governor, following the Suntai’s ill health as a result of the crash.The ruling has thrown the camp of the Former Deputy Governor into wild jubilations,as their is now wind jubilation in Jalingo.
