Three people were killed and a police officer inspector declared missing after an early morning attack on the Agwan Mamman community in Obi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The victims and the police Inspector where ambushed by unknown gunmen while they were travelling in a commercial bus to Keana.

Two of the victims were burnt beyond recognition while the third, one Mahamadu Ozawose, died in Obi hospital while receiving treatment.

The missing police officer, whose name was given as Ibrahim Adamu, is attached to Keana Local Government divisional police station.

When contacted,the Nasarawa State Police spokesperson, Ismaila Numan, confirmed the incident and said investigation had commenced into the matter.

He said, “Two people were burnt by unknown gunmen and one who sustained bullet wound died in the hospital”.

“A police officer who is among those traveling is still missing as we are yet to establish contact with him. We have dispatched our men to the bush to search for him.”
