Oyo State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, is obviously leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that he secures and realises his second term ambition.
In a desperate move, it was gathered that the governor sent delegates to plead with Otunba Alao Akala who had already picked a nomination form under the People’s democratic party in Oyo State for the 2015 Gubernatorial elections.
The aim of the visit was to persuade Akala to drop his gubernatorial ambition and possibly join the APC, we gathered.
On Sunday evening (yesterday), the caretaker chairman of Ogbomosho LG, Mr Timi Adibi led the delegation that met with Akala at SDM to discuss the possibility of the former governor declaring his support for Governor Ajimobi and also join the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The meeting which lasted about 2hrs yielded no positive result as Akala insisted that he is not interested in becoming a member of the APC and also maintains his stand to contest the Governorship post in the coming election under the umbrella of PDP.
Report says Governor Ajimobi is ready to meet with Akala’s demands provided the light skinned Ibadan strong man will drop his guber ambition and support his cause.
