The report I know will scare some and will make some people drop their account on Facebook. I want to tell you that you may not know the truth unless you read this to the end.

Nobody expected such a news story this week, but it seems that Facebook will no longer be a free service. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced at a press conference in Menlo Park, California that the company is unable to keep up with the costs of Facebook and a monthly fee for users is inevitable.

Zuckerberg has explained that Facebook is growing with hundreds and thousands of members signing up each day and the advertisement system Facebook currently uses is not enough to cover all the costs the social media giant needs to keep the site running. He also said that if Facebook continues to remain a free service, there is the possibility of it having to shut down because of the lack of funding.

“After thinking long and hard about this decision, at the end of the day, we were forced to add this monthly fee. If we don’t do something about our rising costs now, Facebook could cease to exist in the near future.” – said Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook currently has about 1.317 billion users and if just %75 of those users start paying the $2.99 monthly fee, the yearly profit would be about $3 billion.

#Here is a good news for those who are already scared by the previous report have determined to drop their Facebook account.

The report says;

Facebook not going to charge users any fee: Reports

 New York, Sep 22  An article on the satirical website National Report, which stated that the social networking site is going to charge its users $2.99 per month starting Nov 1 is fictional, media reports said.
“At a press conference, Facebook rolled out their new monthly service plan which begins November 1st of this year. The social media giant says they will start charging members $2.99/mo to use the services that the site has to offer,” the article read.

 The article also used “made up” quotes from Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Epoch Times reported.

“After thinking long and hard about this decision, at the end of the day we were forced to add this monthly fee. If we don’t do something about our rising costs now, Facebook could cease to exist in the near future,” the website quoted Zuckerberg as saying.

Later, the fake piece of information led people throng social media platforms expressing outrage over the article.

 Recently, the social networking website announced that they would add a ‘satire’ tag with their news feed for articles from parody news outlets like The Onion.

“This is because we received feedback that people wanted a clearer way to distinguish satirical articles from others,”
