Cameroonian Soldiers Kill 27 Boko Haram Militants

Cameroonian military has killed 27 members of Islamist sect, Boko Haram near a North Eastern town. This report is according to the country’s owned radio station (CRTV)
The CRTV says some Boko Haram insurgents crossed the border into Cameroun earlier this week, after attacking some villages, a town, a military base and police station in Nigeria, causing 480 Nigerian soldiers to flee to Cameroun.
While noting that the killings occurred on Monday and Tuesday, the radio station reported that “Cameroun soldiers killed 27 Boko Haram elements during an attack in a locality near Fotokol in the far north,”
Cameroun appears to be recording some remarkable success with curbing Boko Haram, while, their Nigerian counterparts have struggled to suppress the sect members. Cameroun shares border with a part of north-eastern Nigeria that has seen intense fighting over the past two weeks.
Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, last Sunday, released a video where he claimed that Boko Haram has made an Islamic Caliphate out of Gwoza, a town in Borno state, Nigeria, making it the first time the insurgents have made an explicit territorial claim in more than five years of its bloody terrorism.
Boko Haram, had in recent weeks, increased attacks in Cameroun, thus making the country increase deployments of soldiers along its jungle borders.
