Immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has resigned as Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) and National Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), a source close to him told News Express.

“Peter Obi has resigned,” APGA chieftain Stanley Chira told News Express minutes ago.

He did not give details.

News Express is making efforts to reach Peter Obi to throw more light on the issue.

Widely acknowledged as the man who kept APGA alive over the past decade, Mr. Obi had recently been denied appointment as a minister by President Goodluck Jonathan because he refused to defect from APGA to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The two-term governor had penultimate Friday in Awka-Etiti, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State, lamented that the failure by APGA to ratify the positions has made it impossible for him to carry out the duties expected of him.
