Breaking News: Election Tribunal Cancels Rivers State Governorship Election, Sacks Wike

The Rivers state governorship election ‎petition tribunal sitting in Abuja has nullified the election of Nyesom Wike as governor of the state. The tribunal ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct a fresh governorship election in the state.

Nigeria Elections Petitions Tribunal which sat in Abuja gave its ruling thus:

"We hereby order the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to conduct fresh elections in Rivers State, South-South Nigeria."
