3 Die As Suicide Bombers Strike On Maiduguri Highway

The Police in Borno on Wednesday confirmed the killing of three persons, including two suspected suicide bombers, who detonated explosives along Maiduguri-Damaturu Highway on Tuesday night.

Mr Aderemi Opadokun, the Commissioner of Police in he state, told newsmen in Maiduguri.

“There was an explosion at about 10:10pm on Tuesday near the Airport Round-About, along Maiduguri-Damaturu Highway.

“Two suspected suicide bombers on foot detonated Improvised Explosive Devise (IED) strapped on their bodies, according to our investigation.

“The bombers killed themselves and a security personnel during the incident.

“The police has visited and comb the area to ensure that the place is safe.” the commissioner said.

He said the police had carried the bodies to the Morgue, while investigations continues.
