President Buhari has excused himself from the lunch with the world leaders.
Nigeria’s new president, Muhammadu Buhari, briefly after receiving world leaders at the Aso Rock Villa left a mosque to pray.

The president has excused himself from the lunch he was hosting at the villa to go to the mosque to observe his prayers.

He has since left the guests in the hands of the Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo pending when he gets back from the mosque.

Muhammadu Buhari won Nigeria’s presidential poll on March 28 but declared a winner by the country’s Independent National Electoral Commission under the leadership of Prof. Attahiru Jega in the early hours of April 1, 2015.

He defeated Goodluck Jonathan with about 2 million votes.

President Buhari on his way to Mosque to observe prayer
Buhari’s presidential victory is the result of his fourth attempt to lead the country since he was ousted by General Babangida 30 years ago, in 1985.

Buhari was said to call for the introduction of ‘total’ Islamic law, the Sharia, across the country.

It would be noted that the retired general refers to himself as a “converted democrat”. During the campaign he has promised to fight the endemic corruption that keeps the rich Nigerian nation impoverished.
