A former Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana and immediate past Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, is set to officially declare his intention to contest in the Lagos State governorship election on Friday, November 28.
This was made known in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media Strategy, Ohimai Amaize.
Mr. Amaize said, “Senator Obanikoro is ready to unveil his plans of a ‘Greater Lagos’ for the people of Lagos State.
“Senator Obanikoro has answered the call of his people to rescue Lagos State from political and economic bondage and we are very confident that based on his overwhelming goodwill among the people of Lagos, especially the downtrodden masses, as well as his impeccable record in public service, he is the best prepared for the job,” Mr. Amaize said in the statement.
Mr. Obanikoro’s declaration event will be themed “Walk With Me”.
The former Minister resigned his appointment as Minister of State for Defence on October 20 to pursue his gubernatorial ambition under the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
